Molten WoW Guide: Cataclysm Greymane Realm

greymane

Below is a brief a description and FAQ about our upcoming Cataclysm realm - Greymane. For the past months Molten Staff has been very hard at work maintaining and developing world's best Wrath of the Lich King realms, having held anniversary festivities, new year holidays as well as developing the highly demanded and awaited Molten's first Cataclysm realm.

We intend to ensure that, compared to competition Cataclysm servers, Greymane is the highest quality private server realm worldwide and the least bugged, by far exceeding realms offered on any other private server. We are very well aware of players' expectations from Molten's quality and the responsibility that we have.

FAQ
Will the Cataclysm realm be as good as Wrath of the Lich King realms?
Not at start. Many of us remember how bugged Wrath of the Lich King used to be in 2009, back when "Northrend spawned!" was an achievement. Cataclysm is at early stages of being playable and has many bugs. However it is also being highly developed at a very fast pace. We can assure that Molten's Cataclysm realm - Greymane will be the best, most working and least bugged Cataclysm realm compared to any other private server. Our players also know how well Molten takes care of the quality, performance, stability and security of it's realms and that we will focus on daily, aggressive bug fixes based on player feedback. Greymane is currently being tested internally and we are comparing our own development to that of the competition, and we already know that we have excelled. For another month we will continue focusing on important issues that our Quality Assurance team discovers, mainly for Goblin and Worgen starting zones.

Will there be transfers from other private servers?
No. Molten never offered transfers from other private servers and does not intend to do so.

What will the player cap be?
Realm's capacity is currently not known. Stability and realm's capacity will be set at a later stage. In the long term we expect good performance and stability that our Wrath of the Lich King realms have.

Will there be vote items and donation items?
Naturally, yes. But Cataclysm database support is not developed well and is at a very early stage. This includes items, quests, NPCs and many other in-game content which requires time to develop, just like Wrath of the Lich King database used to be.

Will all instances be open?
Instances will be opened after they are scripted. There will be no tank'n'spank. Our report shows that other existing Cataclysm private servers are plagued by exploits, hacks and cheaters who have taken advantage of poorly developed and maintained realms causing damage to in-game economies and overall health of realm's balance. Instances and raids will be available gradually as soon as they are scripted as on retail and offer a challenge.

Will character transfers from Molten's Wrath of the Lich King realms be available?
Not in near future. We intend to maintain and develop our Wrath of the Lich King realms as long as our huge community desires, and will not lure existing players into migrating. In future, depending on population and popularity, we are looking to make changes to existing realms which will give a choice to all Wrath of the Lich King players to upgrade their characters to Cataclysm. Those decisions will be taken based on community feedback and only after upgrade possibility is developed.
