Chapter Eight - Sholazar Basin

At Level 77 you are able to purchase your Cold Weather Flying training to unlock your flying mount for use in Northrend. There is one trainer at River's Heart in Sholazar Basin and one at Krasus' Landing in Dalaran. The skill costs 1000g but is subject to factional discounts. You must invest in this skill or you will not be able to do some of the later quests in this chapter.
1. Fly to Dalaran.
	Sell. Repair. Restock. Since you are in town or near a vendor, now is a good time to unload and reload your packs.
2. Get Where in the World is Hemet Nesingwary?
3. Turn in Where in the World is Hemet Nesingwary?
	There's a dwarf in a tree nearby where you landed.
4. Get and turn in Welcome to Sholazar Basin.
	Follow the torch marked path to Nesingwary's camp.
	Opportunity Knocks!
	Sholazar Basin is a rich and verdant zone. You will find it's a superb place for all gathering professions. There are many herbs, mines and animals to skin. While you're questing and killing animals it's also a good source of meats needed for leveling the cooking skill. It's easy to become distracted wtih so much money just sitting around waiting to be collected! When Opportunity Knocks...answer!
5. Get It Could Be Anywhere!, Venture Co. Misadventure and Need an Engine, Take an Engine.
6. Complete and turn in Need an Engine, Take an Engine.
	Follow the torch lined trail east, back where you landed.
7. Get Have a Part, Give a Part.
8. Get and complete Engineering a Disaster.
	Go east on the trail and when you reach a large yellow crystal leave the road and head northeast to the Dig. Helice offers her escort quest starting in the center of the Dig.
9. Complete It Could Be Anywhere!, Venture Co. Misadventure and Have a Part, Give a Part.
	Kill and loot any mobs in the Dig area. Parts are also found all over the Dig.
	Opportunity Knocks!
	The miners at the Dig have a fast respawn rate, making them a good place to farm for cash and cloth. When Opportunity Knocks...answer!
10. Turn in Engineering A Disaster and It Could Be Anywhere!
	Back to Nesingwary's camp.
11. Turn in Venture Co. Misadventure and get Wipe That Grin Off His Face.
12. Turn in Have a Part, Give a Part and get Aerial Surveillance.
	You have now unlocked the flight point.
	Sell. Repair. Restock. Since you are in town or near a vendor, now is a good time to unload and reload your packs.
13. Complete and turn in Wipe That Grin Off His Face.
	Swindlegrin and Meatpie are on the scaffolding on the south side of the Dig, against the pillar.
14. Get, complete and turn in Kick, What Kick?
	Equip the gun and fire away.
15. Get The Great Hunter’s Challenge, Dreadsaber Mastery: Becoming a Predator and Rhino Mastery: The Test.
16. Complete Dreadsaber Mastery: Becoming a Predator, Rhino Mastery: The Test.
	Dreadsabers and Rhinos are found to the north, northwest, and west of Nesingwary's.
17. Turn in Dreadsaber Mastery: Becoming a Predator and get Dreadsaber Mastery: Stalking the Prey.
18. Turn in Rhino Mastery: The Test and get Rhino Mastery: The Chase.
19. Get A Steak Fit For A Hunter, Crocolisk Mastery: The Trial and Some Make Lemonade, Some Make Liquor.
	Sell. Repair. Restock. Since you are in town or near a vendor, now is a good time to unload and reload your packs.
20. Turn in Rhino Mastery: The Chase and get An Offering for Soo-rahm.
	Cross the river on the bridge and you'll see two bone skeletons. One near you and one just a little bit further away. Go towards the further one and you'll find Soo-rahm.
21. Complete An Offering for Soo-rahm, A Steak Fit For A Hunter, Crocolisk Mastery: The Trial and Some Make Lemonade, Some Make Liquor.
	Southwest, south, and southeast of Nesingwary you'll find all the Longnecks you need to kill. East of Nesingwary's and along the river you'll crocolisks and cobras. You'll also find vines hanging from trees that you can tug on to bring down fruit.
22. Turn in An Offering for Soo-rahm and get The Bones of Nozronn.
	A little south of Nesingwary's.
23. Complete and turn in The Bones of Nozronn.
	The Bones are to the south. Use your powder stuff. Turn in at Nesingwary's.
24. Get Rhino Mastery: The Kill.
25.Turn in Crocolisk Mastery: The Trial and get Crocolisk Mastery: The Plan.
26. Turn in A Steak Fit For a Hunter and The Great Hunter’s Challenge.
27. Turn in Some Make Lemonade, Some Make Liquor.
28. Get, complete and turn in Still At It.
	The Still is next to the NPC. Watch your chat screen for him to tell you what sparklies you should be clicking on in what order.
29. Get The Taste Test and administer the test to Hemet and Hadrius.
	Sell. Repair. Restock. Since you are in town or near a vendor, now is a good time to unload and reload your packs.
30. Complete Crocolisk Mastery: The Plan and Dreadsaber Mastery: Stalking the Prey.
	Northeast, past the Dig is a lake. Around the lake are fronds and tracks.
31. Turn in Crocolisk Mastery: The Plan and get Crocolisk Mastery: The Ambush.
32. Turn in Dreadsaber Mastery: Stalking the Prey and get Dreadsaber Mastery: Ready to Pounce.
33. Complete and turn in Dreadsaber Mastery: Ready to Pounce and Rhino Mastery: The Kill.
	Go northeast to Bittertide Lake. Shando is on the western side of the lake in the hills. Faruun is on the eastern end of the lake near the waterfall on the north side.
34. Get Lakeside Landing.
35. Turn in Aerial Surveillance and Lakeside Landing.
	Fly to River's Heart using the Airplane (Note: This quest has been bugged for ages so you may have to simply head there yourself by following the river eastward). Get your flight point.
36. Complete The Taste Test.
37. Get The Part-time Hunter and An Embarassing Incident.
38. Complete and turn in An Embarassing Incident.
	Loot mud piles in the lake until you find his keys.
39. Get, complete and turn in Reconnaissance Flight.
	This isn't one of those 'free ride' trips. When you get attacked your pilot gets wounded. You have to drive back to River's Heart. So don't go AFK for this one.
40. Get Force of Nature.
41. Complete Crocolisk Mastery: The Ambush.
	There's a log that's halfway in the water on the west side of the lake. Get close and use your frond.
	Sell. Repair. Restock. Since you are in town or near a vendor, now is a good time to unload and reload your packs.
42. Complete The Part-time Hunter.
	Take the trail leading up on the east side of the lake then go south to the road (note: ROAD not the trail leading into the Frenzyheart village.) Follow the road southwest and you'll shortly see a large blue crystal on the left with three wolvar and Pitch.
43. Get Playing Along.
	After killing Pitch the wolvar offer this quest.
44. Turn in The Part-time Hunter.
45. Turn in Playing Along and get The Ape Hunter’s Slave.
	Frenzyheart Hill is southeast from River's Heart.
46. Get Tormenting the Softknuckles.
47. Complete and turn in The Ape Hunter’s Slave and Tormenting the Softknuckles.
	Go south to the road then follow it east until just before you reach the river. To the north you'll find a dirt area called Hardknuckle clearing. Poke babies with your stick until the mom comes. Kill the other gorillas you need.
48. Get, complete and turn in The Wasp Hunter’s Apprentice and The Sapphire Queen.
	Sapphire Hive is located just south of Frenzyheart Hill. The Queen is inside the tree/tunnel.
	Opportunity Knocks!
	The Sapphire Hive Drones and Wasps come in packs of one and three, are easily AoE'd, are everwhere, have a fast respawn, and have an 80% drop rate on Rent Carapace. A stack of 20 sells for nearly 4g. In addition to the other random grey vendor junk they drop you can very quickly build up a good supply of gold. When Opportunity Knocks...answer!
49. Get, complete and turn in Flown the Coop.
	There are chickens all in and around Frenzyheart Hill. Throw you net at them then loot them.
50. Get, complete and turn in The Underground Menace and Mischief in the Making.
	From Frenzyheart Hill head due south until you reach Wintergrasp River. Somewhere along it's banks you'll find the worm you need to kill. Also along the way be looting the white crystals you need.
	Sell. Repair. Restock. Since you are in town or near a vendor, now is a good time to unload and reload your packs.
51. Get, complete and turn in A Rough Ride.
	Just above the 'h' in Frenzyheart on your map you'll find the croc you need to ride. Just sit back and enjoy. You'll need to summon your wolvar 'friend' to turn in.
52. Get complete and turn in Lightning Definitely Strikes Twice and The Mist Isn’t Listening.
	Use your crystals at the shrine at the base of the western side of the pillar. Kill the gorlocs in this area.
53. Get Hoofing It.
54. Turn in Crocolisk Mastery: The Ambush and The Taste Test.
	At Nesingwary's camp.
55. Get In Search of Bigger Game.
56. Turn in Hoofing It.
	Back to Frenzyheart Hill.
57. Get, complete and turn in Just Following Orders.
	North near the river you'll find an injured oracle you can talk to. You'll get attacked by a croc. Kill it.
58. Get, complete and turn in Fortunate Misunderstandings.
	Follow/protect the little gorloc.
	Sell. Repair. Restock. Since you are in town or near a vendor, now is a good time to unload and reload your packs.
59. Get, complete and turn in Make the Bad Snake Go Away and Gods Like Shiny Things.
	Go east to the river and follow it north. Venomtip often changes what side of the river he is on so just look on both sides for him. Other cobras can be found all over the place. Additionally, look for shiny points on the ground anywhere in the area and take your gorloc friend to it so he'll dig up treasure.
60. Get, complete and turn in Making Peace.
	Go to River's Heart to the south. At the top of the eastern waterfall on the south side you'll find the wolvar you need to talk to.
61. Get Back So Soon?
62. Turn in Back So Soon?
	Go to Bittertide lake to the northwest. On the north side you'll find Mistcaller Soo-gan.
63. Get Forced Hand and The Lost Mistwhisper Treasure.
64. Turn in In Search of Bigger Game.
	Almost directly north (a pinch west) of Soo-gan is Dorian's Outpost. A small tent with some NPCs.
65. Get, complete and turn in Sharpening your Talons and Securing the Bait.
	Follow the road east to the Savage Thicket. Eggs are near the tree bases and proto-drakes are around.
66. Get Burning to Help, A Mammoth Undertaking, Reagent Agent, and My Pet Roc.
67. Complete and turn in A Mammoth Undertaking and Burning to Help.
	There are a few mammoths in the immediate vicinity of Dorian's Outpost. Only brown ones will work. You may need to kill black ones to get brown to spawn as they share a spawn point. The Hydra you need are in the Bittertide Lake to the south. Make sure you let them spit on you, then use the vial to collect it before killing them.
68. Complete and turn in Reagent Agent and My Pet Roc.
	Follow the road east through the Savage Thicket and to the Bonefields. Nests in this area will have eggs and there are plenty of birds to kill.
69. Get, complete and turn in Post-partum Aggression.
	Once you're astride your Mammoth with Hemet onboard head northeast to the hills just above the Savage Thicket where there is a large proto-drake nest with Slivina patrolling around inside. Charge in and order Hemet to attack. Hemet will cue you on when he's set down a trap that does a ton of damage to her so drag her to them. It's possible to solo but much much easier with help.
70. Complete and turn in Forced Hand and The Lost Mistwhisper Treasure.
	Northwest of Dorian's Outpost is the wolvar town of Spearborn. On the northern side of the village is the treasure you need to loot. Looting it will summon the named you need to kill. All other mobs are found in the village. Turn in on the north side of Bittertide Lake.
71. Get and turn in Home Time!
	Back to Rainspeaker Canopy north of River's Heart.
	Sell. Repair. Restock. Since you are in town or near a vendor, now is a good time to unload and reload your packs.
72. Get The Angry Gorloc.
73. Turn in Force of Nature.
	Go east to the river and follow it northwest until you find the Avatar of Freya.
	Opportunity Knocks!
	Attention Fisherman! The Rainspeaker Rapids River has constant spawns of Nettlefish schools. These fish are needed to make Fish Feasts which are used a lot in high-end raiding and worth a nice bit on the AH. There will always be at least 3 schools spawned along the river all the time. When Opportunity Knocks...answer!
74. Get An Issue of Trust.
75. Turn in The Angry Gorloc and get The Mosswalker Savior.
	From Freya go east until you reach a road and follow it easterly to Mosswalker Village. You'll need to summon your gorloc friend to turn in.
76. Complete The Mosswalker Savior and An Issue of Trust.
	Kill scourge inside the village and speak with fallen gorlocs to try to rescue them. For those that die, don't forget to loot their sacks that they leave behind.
77. Turn in The Mosswalker Savior and get Lifeblood of the Mosswalker Shrine.
78. Turn in An Issue of Trust.
	Back to Freya.
79. Get, complete and turn in Returned Sevenfold.
	North of Freya there are several waterfalls. On the western bank of the second waterfall up is Thalgran. He's soloable if you remember to use your Freya's Ward to reflect his most powerful spells back at him.
80. Get Salvaging Life’s Strength and The Fallen Pillar.
81. Turn in The Fallen Pillar and get Cultist Incursion.
	Directly south of Freya is the ruined Lifeblood Pillar. You'll find a trail leading up the bottom half of the pillar on the western side of it. Go all the way up the trail and you'll find the body of a cultist.
82. Complete Lifeblood of the Mosswalker Shrine and Salvaging Life’s Strength.
	All around the area of the ruined pillar you'll find red shards to loot. You'll also find elementals to kill. Don't forget to use the Lifeforce gem on them first.
83.  Turn in Lifeblood of the Mosswalker Shrine and get A Hero’s Burden.
	You'll need to summon your gorloc friend again.
84. Note: In the next step you will complete A Hero’s Burden. During the fight you will need to choose to kill an Oracle or a Frenzyheart. Whomever you don’t kill will offer you a quest to become Honored with that faction and unlock it’s daily quests. Each faction has different rewards. Some are useful and some are fluffy. You can always change your mind and wait for the respawn and choose a different guy to kill but it’s just easier if you know who you want to be friends with before-hand. The Oracles and Frenzyheart Tribe faction daily quests are not covered in this guide but I recommend doing them anyway for a small xp boost.
85. Complete and turn in A Hero’s Burden.
	The top half of the Lifeblood pillar is lying on the ground to the west of the pillar itself. It's called the Sundered Shard. On the east side of it is the entrance of a cave. Go inside the cave and hug the left until you find the Lich you need to kill. You will need help. Also don't get too far away from the lich while killing the gorloc or wolvar or you can bug the quest.
	Sell. Repair. Restock. Since you are in town or near a vendor, now is a good time to unload and reload your packs.
86. Turn in Salvaging Life’s Strength and Cultist Incursion.
	Back to Freya.
87. Get, complete and turn in Exterminate the Intruders and Weapons of Destruction.
	To the northwest between Freya and the Glimmering Pillar you'll find a camp of cultists.
88. Get, complete and turn in The Lifewarden’s Wrath.
	Fly to the top of the Glimmering Pillar and use Freya's Horn near the crystals.
89. Get, complete and turn in Freya’s Pact.
	Speak with Freya to hear her tale.
90. Get, complete and turn in Powering the Waygate: The Maker’s Perch.
	The Maker's Perch is located on the western edge of the zone at the cliffs. Directly between the two rivers that flow in from the sea if you're looking at your map. Inside the building you'll find a switch you need to use.
91. Get Powering the Waygate: The Maker’s Overlook.
92. Get, complete and turn in A Timeworn Coffer.
	The Maker's Overlook is located up the cliffside due east from Freya. You'll find a coffer just outside on the balcony with this quest. Kill and loot golems until you find the key.
93. Complete and turn in Powering the Waygate: The Maker’s Overlook.
	Use the switch inside the Overlook.
94. Get, complete and turn in The Etymidian.
	Travel to the Mosslight Pillar directly southwest from River's Heart. Across the road on the southwest side is the Waygate. Walk through and follow the path over to the giant onyx statue.
95. Get, complete and turn in The Activation Rune.
	Enter the building to the north and kill the named cultist to loot the rune.
96. Get, complete and turn in Back Through the Waygate.
	Go back through the Waygate and return to Freya.
97. Get, complete and turn in Reclamation.
	Go northeast to the Avalanche. This video can help if you need it.
